Level 1 - The Voice Over Adventure
(Introduction)
-What is Voice Over and “dare
I explore it”....
Have you ever wondered what
it would be like to venture behind the microphone?
Now’s your chance to embark on a exciting voyage to explore
Voice Over and all it’s possibilities. You’ll work with
professional Voice Over Artists. You’ll work with actual
scripts. You’ll re-create a real commercial all the while
making new friends and stretching your comfort zone in a safe
and fun environment. Your Adventure will climax with a studio
recording session of which you’ll receive a copy.
Level 2 –The Voice-lets
(Performance for Microphone)
-Learn the steps
to finding your voice and beating your demons (fear, anxiety),
The natural continuation from
Level 1. (the Adventure Continues) or if you have some
performance background. This begins your intensive training,
working on specific techniques designed to build your
confidence as a Voice Over Artist. Discover the basics of
Commercials, Narration, Character Development (Animation) and
how effectively be confident as “yourself” and bring YOUR
voice forward.
Level 3 - Becoming the Voice Artist
(You are the Character)
-Casting,
Characters and Commercials
Now that you have found YOUR
VOICE, how does that parley into Casting, what is your “Hit”
and how do you bring all of you into your work. How to develop
yourself as a character and utilize yourself as a basis of
other Characters, attitudes and personalities. How to analyze
your script and look for clues to bring emotion, attitude and
all the voices in your head together to enrich your work.
Level 4 - Making Magic with Your Voice (Tell me a Story)
--Narration, Audio
books and E-Learning
This is one of the most
important skills and one of the toughest to master. Telling a
story. Whether it be for a commercial, narrating a film or
just describing the proper steps to follow on a web page, how
you say it is as important if not more so than what you say.
If your audience isn’t listening to you, the content doesn’t
matter.
Special tips and performance secrets to get you over the
(your) hurdles will be discussed. You’ll learn how to pace
yourself, bring emotion and excitement to the story. In short,
how to get the audience to absorb and retain your message.
Level 5 - Demo Prep (Graduation)
(Prerequisite Levels 1 through 4, Voice Gyms with
at least 3 Studios and one Elective)
-Putting it all
together and prepare to record your demo
-Learning the
importance of administration of your VO career
This is the culmination of
all your hard work and practice. Now it is time to get your
calling card together. Your Demo!!
We’ll take a step by step
approach to capitalize on your strengths coming up with your
best possible presentation. You’ll learn how to find scripts
that highlight your uniqueness and originality. What is the
right studio and who is the right engineer for your Winning
Demo. What are the best ways to get your demo listened to
after it is completed.
Each class consist of approximately 16 hours of training
(breaks included) either over a weekend or 4 – 4 hour weekly
classes. The training will be split between a classroom
utilizing a microphone /Public Address system (no record) and
a studio (record).
All classes conclude with a brief description including a Q &
A regarding the Voice Over business and the marketplace
Locally, Nationally, and Internationally.

How to register
Payment is required for confirmation of class registration.
For telephone registration VISA, MasterCard or American
Express are accepted.
Call 403.277-6767 for information on cheque and/or money order
payments.
When applicable - "Early Bird Specials" require that full
payment (plus all applicable sales tax) be paid by the deadline date specified
for applicable classes. For prompt money order or cheque
payments please contact the Voice Spot WCS office for more
information.
Refunds & Withdrawals
Refunds:
A full refund is given only when a class is cancelled by Voice
Spot WCS.
Withdrawals:
To withdraw from a class, please contact 403.277-6767.
An administration fee of $125*** will be levied for all
withdrawals submitted more than 5 business days prior to the
class beginning.
Payments are non-refundable if withdrawal notification is less
than 5 business days before class is scheduled to begin.
