Workshops

Level 1 - The Voice Over Adventure (Introduction)

-What is Voice Over and “dare I explore it”....

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to venture  behind the microphone?

Now’s your chance to embark on a exciting voyage to explore Voice Over and all it’s possibilities.  You’ll work with professional Voice Over Artists. You’ll work with actual scripts. You’ll re-create a real commercial all the while making new friends and stretching your comfort zone in a safe and fun environment. Your Adventure will climax with a studio recording session of which you’ll receive a copy.

Level 2 –The Voice-lets (Performance for Microphone)

-Learn the steps to finding your voice and beating your demons (fear, anxiety),

The natural continuation from Level 1. (the Adventure Continues) or if you have some performance background. This begins your intensive training, working on specific techniques designed to build your confidence as a Voice Over Artist. Discover the basics of Commercials, Narration, Character Development (Animation) and how effectively be confident as “yourself” and bring YOUR voice forward.

Level 3 - Becoming the Voice Artist (You are the Character)

-Casting, Characters and Commercials

Now that you have found YOUR VOICE, how does that parley into Casting, what is your “Hit” and how do you bring all of you into your work. How to develop yourself as a character and utilize yourself as a basis of other Characters, attitudes and personalities.  How to analyze your script and look for clues to  bring emotion, attitude and all the voices in your head together to enrich your work.

Level 4 - Making Magic with Your Voice (Tell me a Story)

--Narration, Audio books and E-Learning

This is one of the most important skills and one of the toughest to master. Telling a story. Whether it be for a commercial, narrating a film or just describing the proper steps to follow on a web  page, how you say it is as important if not more so than what you say.  If your audience isn’t listening to you, the content doesn’t matter.

Special tips and performance secrets to get you over the (your) hurdles will be discussed. You’ll learn how  to pace yourself, bring emotion and excitement to the story. In short, how to get the audience to absorb and retain your message.

Level 5 - Demo Prep (Graduation)
(Prerequisite Levels 1 through 4, Voice Gyms with at least 3 Studios and one Elective)

-Putting it all together and prepare to record your demo

-Learning the importance of administration of your VO career

This is the culmination of all your hard work and practice.  Now it is time to get your calling card together. Your Demo!!

We’ll take a step by step approach to capitalize on your strengths coming up with your best possible presentation. You’ll learn how to find scripts that highlight your uniqueness and originality. What is the right studio and who is the right engineer for your Winning Demo. What are the best ways to get your demo listened to after it is completed.
