Audiobooks: The Art and Business Introduction – Edmonton

The audiobook industry continues to grow by leaps and bounds, increasing by approximately 40% annually, year on year.  Learn what it takes to become a part of this exploding industry with this weekend workshop, the only one of its kind in Canada.

Taught by Dawn Harvey, an award winning audiobook narrator, this course will cover audiobook basics such as fiction vs. non-fiction, 1st person vs. 3rd person reads, audiobook preparation, research, “casting” your novel, handling dialogue including gender and accent/dialect considerations, and the business of audiobooks including auditions, demos, rates, industry connections and finding work.  A session in the studio will be recorded for you and critiqued.  (NOTE:  This course is usually offered only once annually.)

Prerequisite: Previous voice over and/or acting experience – please detail in the registration form.

Class fee: $500 + tax
